This 2-hour workshop is a chance to have a go at using clay in a fun, lively setting with a glass of prosecco in hand! There are no rules here so feel free to sculpt whatever inspires you! Just a friendly tip: having some great reference images from multiple angles on hand will really help spark your imagination. If you need a little inspiration, there will be life model reference images available to guide you. Come ready to create, laugh, and have a fantastic time! All sculpting tools and materials are provided, plus you’ll receive a drink on entry. Aprons are provided but wear clothes that you don’t mind getting clay dust on. If you love what you’ve made, there is an opportunity to fire and glaze your masterpiece for an additional fee.

The three workshops will focus on a specific element of the face each week: covering the ear, the mouth and the eye. You will learn about the structure of the face and the simplified and detailed elements that make up the features. This will be a fun introduction to portrait sculpture with a chance to take home some quirky pieces of fine art. Feel free to join for one, two or all three workshops! This workshop can be tailored to cover whatever you’re interested in. You will learn sculpting techniques that form the basis of any sculpture. Depending on scale, you can also learn about armatures and hollowing to prepare for the kiln.
